Qufu, 120 kilometres south of Jinan, is an old city known both at home and abroad. As early as in the Zhou Dynasty (c.11th century--201 B.C.), it was the capital of the state of Lu. In the Han (206 B.C.--A.D. 220), Luxian County was set up to replace it; and in the Sui (581--618), it was changed to Qufu County.
Ruins of the former capital city of the state of Lu are still found around Qufu County. More than 2,000 years ago, Confucius, founder of the Confucian School, was born in Qufu. There sits the Tomb and Temple of Confucius and other magnificent commemorative structures built by China's feudal monarchs in history.

To serve tourists there are Jinan Hotel, Nanjiao Hotel, Qilu Hotel, Kongfu Hotel and Jueli Hotel in Qufu. Train service and passenger planes are provided to other major Chinese cities. You are welcome to come on a tour of Qufu by train or by air.
