Chongqing was built on hills, therefore it called "the Mountain City". As it is a mountain city, so at nights a splendid sight is presented by the lights. The main tourist attractions include the Shrine of Zhuge Liang, Star Observation Pavilion and Mingliang Hall. If you want to visit the Three Gorges of Yangzi River by ship, usually you will set out from Chongqing. The hotpot of Chongqing is very famous for its spicy taste. But it isn't an usual spicy taste. It's not only very spicy but also tingling. I had a try to taste it, a real challenge.
The main tourist attractions in Chengdu City are Shrine of Zhuge Liang, Thatched Hut of Du Fu, the Green Sheep Palace and the River View Tower. There are a hundred kinds of bamboo in the River View Tower. Chengdu is a starting point to many natural and historical places. Such as Dujiang Dam, the Temple of Li Bing and his son, Mountain Qingcheng, Mountain Le and Mountain Emei and Jiu Zhai Gou. Travelling Dujiang Dam, the Temple of Li Bing and his son and Mountain Qingcheng will spend a day. I suggest you that when you are on your journey, listen to the guide carefully. Because the guide will introduce these places to you. When you are on the way, the guide will ask you a question which is according to his introduction. If you are unable to reply it, unfortunately that means to say you have to get a punishment--singing. So if you are shy to sing to others, then remember to listen to the guide's introduction with a great care. 2000 years ago, Dujiang Dam was built by Li Bing and his son. It has still made a great difference even until now. In order to commemorate Li Bing and his son, people built the temple for them. Dujiang Dam has a beautiful scenery, especially the water, it's very clear. And there is a iron chain bridge in Dujiang Dam. Walking on such a bridge will feel a little scared. The flute of Mountain Qingcheng is famous because of the special bamboo. Mountain Le is famous for the huge statue of Buddha. Three rivers--Min River, Qingyi River and Dadu River converge at the feet of this statue of Buddha. This statue began to engrave in Tang Dynasty, it spent 90 years finishing. This statue of Buddha is 71 meters high. Its ear can hold 2 people. On one of its feet it can hold 6 cars. Repairing a finger of it will spend 3000 bricks. On one hand you can say a mountain is the statue of Buddha, on the other hand you can say the statue of Buddha is a mountain. Because this statue is really huge. Mountain Emei is one of 4 famous Buddhist mountains in China. When I have been there, at that time it was in winter. Before going there, the guide told us that there would be many wild monkeys in Mountain Emei. According to their characters, these monkeys include naughty, robber, gluttonous monkeys (I forgot the 4th kind). Most monkeys belong to naughty and gluttonous kinds. If you wanted to feed them, then remembered to bring some foods for them. Peanuts don't attract them any more because they have been spoilt by tourists. Nowadays they are interested in chocolate. When you give all of the foods to monkeys, don't forget to show your empty hands to them to have a look, so they will understand that you have no food to feed them any more. Unfortunately at that time there was a snow so that I was unable to see the monkeys. The guide said the best time to Jiu Zhai Gou is between spring and summer. Because at that time you can not only see the beautiful natural views but also ride a horse in a grasslands. Jiu Zhai Gou is well-known for its beautiful natural scenery. It is worth visiting. If you ask the information of Jiu Zhai Gou from people who have been to Jiu Zhai Gou, usually they are unable to tell you how beautiful it is, they can say it is very beautiful continuously only. Because noone can describe its beauty and no words can express it. |
