BEIJING (October,1997)

Beijing has numerous scenic spots and historic sites, such as Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, the Great Wall, Temple of Heaven, the Summer Palace, Mountain Xiang, the Lamasery of Harmony and Peace, the Ming Tombs, ruins of Yuanmingyuan...

Tiananmen Square is pretty large. People can play kites there, it's wonderful. Every morning, the flag-raising ceremony will start when the sun raises. Now there is a cable car in the Great Wall. It spends a few minutes going to the Great Wall. The guide told me, if you want to travel to the whole Great Wall. At least it must spend you 4 years. The red leaves of Mountain Xiang are famous. So autumn is the best season to be there. The whole Mountain Xiang turns red at that time.

I have a little regret of travelling to Beijing. I had been to the Yuanmingyuan Park, however I went to the wrong road. The view I saw isn't the ruins of Yuanmingyuan. However at that time I didn't realize it at all. When I came back, my friends saw my photos and they told me that I hadn't seen the real ruins. How poor I am! It's very easy to go to the wrong road in Yuanmingyuan Park. So when you go to there, I hope you will see the real ruins.

Beijing Roast Duck is well-known and delicious. "Quan Ju De" Restaurant is the best place to taste this food. When you are tasting this food there, don't hesitate to take a photo for it at first. Once you see this photo, you will miss this wonderful food.

TIANJIN (October,1997)

In Tianjin, you can find the home of North China New Year pictures--Yangliuqing Village. These pictures are very beautiful and reflecting the traditional culture of China.

Water-Borne Park is like a zoo. The bears are very polite. When you give them a little food, they will wave hands to you.  

The Food Street and Culture Street are famous in Tianjin. They are worth visiting. Especially in Culture Street, you can see many handicrafts. Don't forget to buy the painted clay figurines because Ni Ren Zhang's painted clay figurines are world-famous.

I like Tianjin Science Museum very much. I had been there twice. Because the first time I had no time to visit all parts of this museum. Therefore next day before I left, I went there again. In that museum you can experience the physical, natural and other phenomena in person.

The local food is Goubuli Steamed Bun. "Goubuli" means even the dogs will ignore it. I don't know why it has such a funny name.

Tianjin is my favorite place.
