GINGKO STEWED  IN HONEY

Ingredients:
5 oz gingko
3 oz fox nut
8 dried red dates (stones removed)
1 tbsp dried longan (shells removed)
7 oz sugar lumps
Method:
1.

Remove shells of gingko and put into boiling water to cook for 5 minutes. Remove the outer membrane and wash.

2. Dissolve sugar in 4 cups of water. Bring to boil.
3.

Put gingko, fox nut, red dates, longan and sugar solution into steaming pot and stew for 3 hours.

Good for nervous breakdown, insomnia, forgetfulness, falling off of hair and general tonic for the brain.

LONGAN TEA

Ingredients:
2 tbsp fried rice
1 tbsp longan (shelled)

Method:
1.

Wash some rice and drain. Fry in a wok without oil over low heat until it turns golden brown.

2.

Boil 3 cups of water, add toasted rice and longan. Boil over low heat for 30 minutes and serve. Or: Mix 2 oz Tong-Sam with 2 tbsp fried rice and 3 cups water. Boil for 50 minutes and make it into fried rice and Tong-Sam tea.

Fried rice helps to remove internal cold and warms the stomach. Longan nourishes the brain and the body.

STEW OF PEAR WITH FRITILLARIA VERTICILLATA POWDER

Ingredients:
1 pear
0.1 oz frilillaria verticillata powder (Chee-pui) powder
1 rock sugar about the size of thumb (crushed)


Method:
1.

Core the pear and remove the stalk.

2.

Stuff Chee-pui powder and sugar into pear. Replace the stalk and link them   up with tooth pick. Put in steaming pot and stew for 45 minutes.

Good for alleviating cough caused by dryness and heat of the system and dry cough of cold people.
