Good, Better, Best

Commparatives and superlatives in Chinese are formed by adding an extra word or two to the original modifier. The pattern is always the same. For example:

good hao
better hao yi dian ( yi xie )
even better geng hao
best zui hao
fast kuai
faster kuai yi dian ( yi xie )
even faster geng kuai
fastest zui kuai
    The Best in Life

Traditionally Chinese have regarded luck, wealth, longevity, and happiness as the four blessings in life. You will find these four characters appearing on many decoratives objects, either singly or all four together.

luck wealth longevity happiness
    Good-byes

See you soon. Hui tou jian.
See you tomorrow. Ming tian jian.
See you next time. Xia ci jian.
See you later. Yi hui jian.
